Lisa Viehouser, PDC Founder
Certified Birth Doula (DONA), Certified Postpartum Doula
Birth is not about 'doing it right ' or 'one way is better than the other'. I am convinced that the birthing person and their partner need to be given evidence based information and support as they make the choices that feel right to them. It is also very important to me to give you the nurturing and informed care that you deserve. I am honored to support all kinds of families, and look forward to partnering with you as you welcome your little one. My heart's desire is to be able to encourage families to trust their innate wisdom and help them to joyfully embrace their new role as parents, by walking alongside them through the wonderful and challenging journey before them." Britany Johnston
Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, Women’s Circle Facilitator
“After the births of my children, I found the calling to walk alongside women as they enter the sacred and raw passage of motherhood. Over the years I have gathered knowledge and experience in providing physiologic, mother-centered postpartum care. The way a woman experiences newborn motherhood can make a profound impact on her life and future health. In a western society that does not support slowing down and turning inward to achieve true healing, I have made it my life’s work to change the narrative and bring this care to my community. Overall, my practice encompasses supporting the mother. This includes: local postpartum planning workshops, in-home postpartum care with a focus on nourishing foods & honoring the first 40 days, traditional postpartum body work, lactation/feeding support as a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), facilitating Women & Mother’s Circles, and offering hand crafted, organic herbal products specifically designed to aid in postpartum healing. A postpartum doula is nothing new, but a way to bring back the traditional role of village members who came together to support women after birth and fill a necessary healthcare gap. I look forward to talking about all things postpartum and supporting you in the birth right of a peaceful postpartum experience.” Certification Organization: Newborn Mother's Collective, Innate Traditions, and Evergreen Perinatal Year Began Practicing: 2022 Education: Postpartum Professional Graduate - Newborn Mother's Collective Breastfeeding for Newborn Mothers - Newborn Mother’s Collective Certified Lactation Educator- Evergreen Perinatal Innate Postpartum Care Practitioner- Innate Traditions Women’s Circle Facilitator- Together: Mother’s Circle Facilitator Training Herbalism Intensive Graduate – Rootcraft Herbalism Bachelor of Science in Marketing - University of Idaho Idaho & Washington Food Handlers Certification Website: www.mothernourishpostpartum.com Email: mothernourishpostpartum@gmail.com Service area: Virtual and In-home visits. Ava Cocking
Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, End-of-Life Doula
As a Palouse-area native, I bring a grounded sense of place to my practice. Naturally inclined to be a caregiver as an earthy-mama, my background is in environmental conservation and preservation of God’s creations. As above so shall it be below, caring for Mother Earth takes the same tenderness and strength to care for people in a rooted practice that I bring to you now. For me, being a doula is a spiritual calling, as well as a practical necessity. Doulas fill the gap that modernity has excavated. We find ourselves less communal and therefore less willing to open ourselves to help. With the idea of community being more fragmented than it once was, a doula fills the necessary role of consistent and steady support during life's vulnerable, challenging and tender moments, such as birth, postpartum, and end-of-life. What I honorably bring to this practice is steady physical and mental strength, coupled with deep compassion, tenderness, and honesty. I can be a strong pillar to you during labor and tenderly guide you and your family to healing while a loved one transitions to the other side. Hailey Schneider
Birth and Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, RN
My name is Hailey. I am a nurse, certified birth and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator. I am also a mom to two sweet girls. My passion is providing evidence-based information to allow families to feel confident in making decisions about their care. I believe that we should make decisions through education and information, not fear. I want families to be prepared: learn how to talk with their provider and ask questions, know their (many) options, have tools available to help cope with labor whether it is medicated or unmedicated, and be active participants in their care. This information and preparation is provided through both the birth class I teach as well as through my doula packages. Taelor Ziemantz
Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula
As a birth and postpartum doula, it is my goal to ensure that you have your ideal birthing experience by offering physical and emotional support during pregnancy, birth, and the fourth trimester. Whether that looks like providing education and resources, helping you advocate for yourself as well as your sweet baby, or helping you with chores around the house while you navigate the postpartum period- I am here to help you and encourage you through all of it! The word 'doula' is an ancient Greek term, meaning 'a woman who serves'- and it is my honor to serve you and your family during this intimate time in your life. I strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment, where all families can seek the care they desire. Birth (as well as pregnancy) is such an empowering and beautiful experience- not one is exactly the same as another, which is what makes it so fascinating, but also, so very special. Jessica Mallery
Birth Doula, Midwife Assistant and Student
As a doula, my goal is to provide support that is suited to the needs of each woman and her family. Creating such support requires time, attentiveness, and honor for the unique needs of each client. Because of this, I place high value on prenatal visits in which we get to know each other, explore individual goals, preferences, concerns, and questions. I do my utmost to ensure my clients have access to evidence-based information, are honored in their decisions, and feel prepared to welcome their baby. I support labor and delivery through in-person emotional and physical care. And in the early postpartum days, I remain available to offer a listening ear, gentle advice if it is desired, and connection to additional community resources. It is my joy and privilege to support this sacred and ordinary process.” Certification Organization: DONA Year Began Practicing: 2018 Education: Currently a student midwife and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in midwifery at Midwives College of Utah Additional Experience/Training: Midwifery Assistant Training - I'm currently apprenticing with several local midwives.
